Customized ropeway combination for Lilli-Nielsen School in Kiel: Including play and therapy elements
Lilli-Nielsen School in Kiel is a center for physical, motor, and intellectual development. During the planning phase, the wishes and requirements for the balance course were carefully considered. It should serve both therapeutic and playful purposes. The result is a customized ropeway combination that offers students a variety of opportunities to try out, play, and experience the schoolyard together.
Each child finds a suitable challenge tailored to their individual abilities. The special handrail also provides support for children with motor uncertainties, allowing them to participate in group play.
Detailed planning of the ropeway combination:
Four ropeway courses to promote balance.
Three ropeway original courses without and one with a side-mounted handrail from smb. The additional handrail provides safety for children with motor limitations or balance issues while balancing, giving them the chance to improve their motor skills.
Two intermediate stations with podium circle S and one with podium circle XL, serving as break and meeting points during group play.
Long posts with platform discs connected by an extra side-mounted rope.
The long posts are inclusive elements as they offer children with physical limitations or disabilities a secure way to hold on and move around. They make it easier for children with mobility restrictions to access play equipment and move around on it more easily, making the playground more accessible to all children.
